Experience
With more than 30 years of teaching experience, I have taught students in grades K–8 both in the United States and abroad. Throughout my career, I have worked with students with a wide variety of learning needs and abilities. Whether a student needs support with foundational skills, tutoring to fill learning gaps, or opportunities for enrichment and advancement, I provide personalized instruction designed to help each child grow in confidence and succeed.
Expertise
I hold a Master’s degree in Middle Grades Education and am certified in Texas as a Generalist for PreK–8 and in English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR) for grades 8–12. I also have extensive training in child development and instructional best practices. As a reading interventionist, I specialize in teaching foundational literacy skills, including phonics, while helping students of all ages strengthen vocabulary, fluency, and reading comprehension.
Engagement
I work with students from PreK through 12th grade in reading and social studies, helping them strengthen comprehension, writing, study skills, and critical thinking. I also provide targeted support for STAAR and EOC test preparation, helping students build confidence and improve performance. In addition, I work with elementary students in math, focusing on foundational skills, problem-solving strategies, and developing a strong understanding of key concepts.
Enrichment
I offer both academic advancement and enrichment opportunities, with a strong focus on reading and history. In addition to tutoring, I provide engaging summer enrichment clubs such as crochet, arts and crafts, and book club. During the school year, similar clubs are available after school and during holiday breaks to keep students learning, creating, and growing year-round.
